It's no longer a shock as to how evil and cruel people can be in today's society. Why would anyone in their right mind think of this type of attack on innocent, sick people. There's no longer a place of safety and peace. I'm sure that the members of this group went to this site in order to get support from their peers only to be attacked by an unknown group of idiots. How could anyone get joy or excitement out of hurting people who they don't know or have not harmed them in any way? What is the world coming to?
These people are so cruel to have done this to people. I feel bad for the people that were harmed because some sick person thought it would be fun to harm others. What's wrong with people out there? I think the web can help people but it can also harm people. Flaming and Trolling lets a person vent but this is taken to a new level. I don't agree with flaming or trolling but when it turns from hurting someones feelings to physical harm it is wrong.
I think people are crazy. I don't think that there are anymore now...just more ways to show their craziness! How cruel can you be to inflict harm onto someone else that is only looking for anwsers? It almost seems as if they had nothing better to do with themselves. Even if you do not agree with something or how someone does something, we live in the US (i.e. the melting pot) we need to accept people and their differences.
OK, as we have talked about trolls in class I have always thought it was mean and spiteful, something that was just pointless. Trolls are people that simply need something to do or just want to do these things out of malice--for no reason. I guess I never really understood the magnitude of it until I read this article.
I have epilepsy and I have grand mal seizures. Some of the worst seizures I have had have been from flashing lights (one was even from the mere flashing of a TV cartoon). I am stable for now, but especially when I was first diagnosed, it was traumatizing. I met with a lot of people-- I even did some work with the Epilepsy Foundation (that was mentioned in the article). The idea of trying to get help from these people and only having it backfire due to some random person who just wanted to cause harm for no reason makes me madder than words. These people do not understand the magnitude of their actions. Someone could have been hurt or even killed. Is that something they wanted on their conscience? I bet not. But it doesn't sound like they seem to care. Sorry, I don't mean to rant, this article just really bothered me because it kind of hit close to home.
I have heard of some sick jokes but that one has gone to far. The fact that these people are using the computer to do it just shows that our society has come to anything that will harm another or a group of people. Odviously these people have nothing better to do with there lives than to get a laugh out of making people have seizures.

I wonder though if there are more "evil" people or we are simply better able to see the evil of people because it's online.
